Art at the Farm - Somerset

Hill Farm in West Monkton, Taunton provides delightful old farmhouse setting for this inaugural exhibition. Beautiful art in a beautiful setting by Stephnie Cavill, Kerry Russell and Emma Townsend. An oil painter, a ceramicist and a photographer all striving for simplicity and a natural feel in their work.

40 studios open their doors over three weekends at locations across London. The ArtsUnwrapped website provides a handy map for locating each studio. The ASC Studio in LowerSydenham is one example, with the work of 15 visual artists on show over three floors, and is a participant in the 'Arts Unwrapped' event.

Brightwell-Cum-Sotwell - Part of Oxfordshire Artweeks

Bucks Open Studios - Bucks Visual Arts

Bucks Open Studios is the largest art event in Buckinghamshire. It takes place for two weeks in June every year and is also one of the largest visual arts event in the country. Every year over 480 artists and makers, in over 182 different venues across Buckinghamshire, open their studios and homes and run exhibitions and events for the public to visit. Last year was the biggest ever with a record number of participants, venues and new entrants.

Camberwell Arts Week

Camberwell Arts Week is supported by Southwark Council and is centred on the Camberwell College of Art in the Peckham Road, with Damien Hirst among its more famous alumni. An Open House at Camberwell College provides an opportunity for anyone to try their hand with various mediums including paints or clay. A few minutes in the company of a lump of porcelain clay can enlighten even the most accomplished of aspiring potters to the incredible skill and craftsmanship of the ceramicists, many of who have Open Studios near by.

Cambridge Open Studios

Cambridge Open Studios promotes the original artwork of artists working in the Cambridge area. Studios and galleries are open over week-ends in July to provide ample opportunity for everyone to visit the exhibitions. 275 artists in Cambridgeshire open their doors for 4 weekends in July each year.

(North) Cambridge All Arts Open Studios

Geared to artists living to the North of Cambridge, this Open Studios covers all arts from painters to photography, jewelry to fabric, and woodworkers to sculptors. It also includes the performing arts. This fun event is part-sponsored by the local community and businesses, who clearly appreciate and value the contribution that artists bring to their lives.

Cardigan Open Studios (West Wales)

2010 dates: 17th April - 22nd May, April 24th and 5th - 17th July at the Guildhall Gallery - Cardigan. Various open studio dates through June, July, August and September.

Two exhibitions and five Visit Artists Studios events. Artists from artists from Fishguard to New Quay and Newcastle Emlyn to Llandysul, are opening gardens, running workshops and presentations. The art includes ceramics, watercolours, textiles, painters of still-life, seascapes, oils and print makers - all inspire through living in this wonderful location.

Chew valley arts trail - Somerset (BS40)

The fourth Chew Valley Arts Trail takes place in the picturesque Chew Valley villages of North and South East Somerset. Take in the complete trail in one day, touring around beautiful Blagdon and Chew Valley Lakes.

Colchester and Tendring Open Studios

Dorset Art Weeks

The Dorset Art Weeks includes over venues across Dorset and includes a wide range of artistic talent, including painters and photographers, artworks in glass and ceramics, as well as the works of interior and garden designers.

E17 (London) Art Trail

The 2005 & 2006 E17 Art Trail included over 50 exhibitions and the Art Trail will include and equally diverse range of venues from museums, galleries, shops and cafes to outdoor open spaces and gardens. Timed to coincide with Walthamstow Festival, the E17 Art Trail provides an opportunity for artists in this London borough to gain greater exposure within their community. Visual arts includes film and video, painting, photography, sculpture and more.

Exeter Open Studios (Nine Days of Art)

Herefordshire Art Week

The Herefordshire Art Week is open to professional and semi-professional artists working in the UK County of Herefordshire. It's aim is to showcase artwork of the local art community and to raise its profile, with support and funding from the Herefordshire County Council.

Holmfirth Art Week - West Yorkshire

The Holmfirth Artweek is a charitable event that raises a large sum of money every year for Macmillan Cancer Relief. Now in it's 40th year and with around 400 artists taking part, aided by the efforts of numerous volunteers, this art event raises thousands of pounds for the charity while introducing art-lovers to the artwork of local Yorkshire artists. Well worth a visit, and you will also be supporting a wonderful charity.

Lewes (East Sussex) Artwave Festival

Artwave is organised by Lewes District Council and is open to all venues and those making a living from the visual arts within this East Sussex District boundary. Artwave provides an opportunity to showcase and sell art to the local community as well as drawing an audience from further afield. The event includes open studios, exhibitions and open houses, as well as a number of special event. In previous years it has been successful in attracting a wide range of visual artists; from painters to ceramicists, sculptors to silversmiths, and from book binders to textile artists. This year includes 89 venues as well as the Open House competition, and the Druids and Bards competition "The Sussex Landscape as a Scared Space".

Norfolk Open Studios

With over 100 artists and artisans opening their studios and workplaces to the public over these weekends in June, the North Yorkshire Open Studios event is a wonderful opportunity to see locals artists at work across the county. Oxfordshire Artweeks

The biggest open studio arts festival in the UK, over 400 sites participate across the county. Artists open their homes and studios to the public, plus many exhibitions and special events including workshops, talks and children's activitieis. Somerset Artweek

The Somerset Artweek takes place every two years.

Somerset Art Week runs every second year. This 2 week visual arts festival provides an opportunity to support artists working throughout Somerset. More than 200 studios/venues will be open and more than 250 artists will be taking part. The event features a diverse range of practices, from pottery and watercolour to new technology and installation.

Spring Fling - Annual Art & Craft Open Studio weekend in south west Scotland

Spring Fling, the hugely popular open studio event is celebrating its sixth anniversary and offers visitors a chance to explore the wealth of creative talent living and working in the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of Dumfries & Galloway. This year, 73 studios and 87 artists across Dumfries and Galloway will be throwing open the doors of their studios to provide a warm welcome. Visitors are invited to enter the creative spaces of the regionís premier practitioners to see them at work, ask questions, buy a special piece of work directly from the studio or even have a go themselves. The colour brochure includes a full listing of artists and craftmakers, recommendations for places to see and grab a bite to eat is available from the website.

Surrey Artists Open Studios

This two week opens studios event includes ceramics, pottery, jewellery and textiles, paintings, sculpture and photography. There is also a programme of workshops. Organised by the Surrey Arts Council, the event has attracted 290 artists, huge variety of work on offer, including wood carving, printmaking pottery, jewellery, painting, sculpture, textiles and ceramics.

Wrington Open Studios (North Somerset, off the A38 near Bristol Airport)

2009 dates: November and December - 2010 awaiting dates.

The artists and sculptors working at four locations in the village, including the Barley Wood Walled Garden Workshops, open their studios each day between 10am and 5pm; Calligraphy, Ceramics, Enamelling, Jewellery, Mixed Media, Paintings, Photography, Print Making, Sculpture, Silk Painting.
